Edible Tigernut or yellow nutsedge is a herbaceous plant of the papyrus family.
It grows in meadows and along waterways in the Mediterranean basin. Its tubers are used in flour, juice, or left to dry and a naturally anti-inflammatory, healing and nourishing oil is subsequently extracted from it. Applied to the skin, it improves elasticity and slows the effects of ageing. Additionally, it is traditionally used pure to limit the regrowth of body hair and soothe razor burn. It may also be used as a base for a homemade deodorant; when used on a daily basis it will also limit the growth of armpit hair.
In summary, it is indicated for dry, mature skin and to reduce body hair.
